Firstly this is solid advice for anyone at any stage. You don’t have time to fuck around with your future by lying to yourself. Even if you’re just lying to someone else for effect you’re still lying to yourself if you think you can somehow transition out of that later for the “right” woman.

I would take this even further when you get past the initial posturing and start feeling something serious for her and vice versa. You should work towards a social media detox in favor of doing real things IRL together. One reason people suddenly decide that they are no longer ready or want to continue to FAFO for a better option is that the algorithms are shifting people back and forth for engagement. When they detect that you are in a certain state they will push you out of that state to keep you hungry for “help.” Yes they are that evil and insidious. If you want to know that you can actually trust her, you have to experience her outside the algorithms and vice versa. YOU and your relationship must become her primary focus, not her phone, and of course you have to focus on her, not yours.

This is the real route to happiness as a couple. Use the tech to find someone if you must but the tech will pull you apart again if you let it. It’s designed to do so. Think about it - the dating apps want you dating not marrying. How could they possibly make money if they were good at marrying their customers off?

In sales they say that once the customer has said yes there’s a million bad things that can happen before they sign the contract and only one good thing. You have to think of the tech in the same way. Once you’ve been brought together there is a smaller and smaller list of good things that can happen and an ever expanding list of bad things. The algorithm is your enemy.
